An agreement on the purchase of Bayraktar TB2 Turkish combat UAVs for Ukrainian troops has been signed.

"As we arranged with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, an agreement on the purchase of Bayraktar TB2 Turkish combat UAVs for Ukrainian troops has been signed," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko posted on Facebook.

As Poroshenko noted, these cutting edge tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, apart from high-tech characteristics, can also be equipped with modern high-precision missile armament to destroy armored vehicles, fortified and engineering structures and naval targets.

The President noted that the agreement between the state-owned company “Ukrspetsexport”, which is a member of the State Concern “Ukroboronprom”, and the Turkish company “Baykar Makina” is a step to expand the military and technical cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey, and "fully complies with the strategic course of Ukraine for the membership in NATO - its standards and the open world arms market, which the Ukrainian military-industrial complex is successfully integrating into."
