Minister Poltorak: Naval base on Sea of Azov is Ukrainian Navy’s priority for 2019

The creation of a naval base on the Sea of Azov will be a priority task for the Defense Ministry of Ukraine.
"The command of the Ukrainian Navy should be given the estimates for the creation of a naval base on the Sea of Azov. We need to strengthen our presence in the Sea of Azov, we must respond to the threats that exist in the Sea of Azov, and in no case we will agree to another attempt of the Russian Federation to seize new territories, the entire Sea of Azov," Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said at a press conference in Odesa, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
He emphasized that the Armed Forces and the Navy should be ready to protect the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Therefore, according to the minister, the creation of a naval base on the Sea of Azov will be a priority for 2019.
