Over 17,000 citizens drafted into Ukrainian army in 2018 – General Staff

Over 17,000 people have been drafted into the Ukrainian army in 2018, which is 98% of the plan.
Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Artur Artemenko stated this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In accordance with the decree issued by the President of Ukraine, the conscription for compulsory military service has been almost completed. Conscription commissions directed over 17,000 conscripts to the troops, which makes up 98% of the plan. Others will be drafted in line with the schedule during the current week,” said Artemenko.
