Militants launched 24 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

The situation in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day was tense but absolutely controlled by the joint forces.

“Militants launched 24 attacks on Ukrainian positions, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements seven times. One Ukrainian serviceman was killed, another three were wounded in the military hostilities in last day,” reads the report of the JFO Headquarters press center.

The enemy fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, anti-tank missile systems, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms. In addition, an enemy sniper was detected.

Russian-occupation troops shelled Ukrainian positions outside Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk), Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk), Troitske (69km west of Luhansk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Berezove (35km south-west of Donetsk), Starohnativka (52km south of Donetsk), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Novomykhailivka (28km south-west of Donetsk), Slavne (25km south-west of Donetsk), Taramchuk (30km south-west of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol).

Ukrainian troops outside Krymske, Pisky, Novozvanivka, Shyrokyne and Vodiane came under 82mm mortar fire. The enemy also fired 120mm mortars near Luhanske, anti-tank guided missiles - outside Krasnohorivka, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles – near Troitske and Vodiane.

Today, Russian-occupation troops have already shelled JFO positions on the approaches to Taramchuk (30km south-west of Donetsk). Heavy weapons have not been used. No casualties have been reported.

On December 4, two militants were killed and five more were wounded.
