Some units of Ukraine's National Guard will be partially subordinated to the Armed Forces.

Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Major-General Radion Tymoshenko said this at a briefing on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"An important aspect is that some units and subunits of the National Guard of Ukraine are subordinated to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and only those units and subunits that preliminarily prepared for fulfilling their intended tasks. In particular, those who accompany detainees will not be subordinated," Tymoshenko said.

He noted that a gathering would be held shortly with the operational reserve of the Armed Forces, the staffing of military units would be finished, and the re-grouping of troops would be completed, depending on the current situation.

In addition, measures are being taken to increase the air defense of Ukraine, Tymoshenko said.
