Poltorak meets with UK Chief of Defense Staff

“As part of the official visit to the United Kingdom, Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak held talks with UK Chief of the Defense Staff General Sir Nickolas Carter. The parties discussed current security challenges, the ways to improve and develop the system of military exercises, as well as training of military personnel with the involvement of UK instructors,” reads the report.

Poltorak noted the importance of the assistance provided by the UK in training the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“I am grateful for personal contribution to Operation ORBITAL, which already yields positive results. The issue of extending the work with UK advisers remains topical, especially in planning and engaging representatives of the Naval Forces and the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the organization of staff planning procedures. These exercises are now relevant for us because we are carrying out the reform of the management system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," said Poltorak.

He also invited Sir Nick Carter to visit Ukraine.
