The Ukroboronprom State Concern handed over 3,500 pieces of weapons and military hardware to the frontline this year, National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov has said.

"In just three quarters of this year, the Ukroboronprom Concern handed over 3,500 pieces of weapons and military hardware to our military. I hope the pace of rearming our Armed Forces, National Guard and other security structures will only increase," he told journalists on Thursday.

Turchynov said that the draft state budget for next year envisages an increase in financing of the defense industry, which will help continue the rearmament of the Ukrainian army.

The official said that a large amount of work in the state defense order is carried out by private companies that are no longer inferior to state-owned enterprises.

"Today, we are transferring Varta and Novator armored vehicles, as well as new UPIK-82 lightweight 82mm mortars, to our military. They were all made by non-government enterprises whose share in the transfer of technology and weapons increases every year," Turchynov said.

He added that the state is currently transferring new military hardware not only to the frontline, but also to military training institutions for the training of cadets.
