Ukraine, Japan hold security consultations

The first Ukrainian-Japanese security consultations were held in Tokyo on October 12.
"The parties discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including those related to security and defense policies of the countries, the security situation in certain regions as well as bilateral cooperation," the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reports.
As the Foreign Ministry noted, the agreement was reached to continue such consultations and to determine, through diplomatic channels, the date and place of the next round.
During the visit, a memorandum was signed between the Defense Ministry of Ukraine and the Defense Ministry of Japan on cooperation and exchange in the field of defense.
