UAH 100 bln to be allocated to Ukraine’s Defense Ministry next year

The draft state budget of Ukraine for 2019 stipulates allocation of more than UAH 101.5 billion (about $3.5 billion) for the needs of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine.
“The draft state budget of Ukraine for 2019 stipulates allocation of more than UAH 101.5 billion to the Defense Ministry of Ukraine. The Ministry objectively estimated its needs at UAH 210 billion, although actually it needs much more. However, we can afford to allocate only 100 billion," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said at a meeting with the brigade commanders of the Armed Forces, the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine during a working visit to Khmelnytsky region, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Ukraine already has the army able to protect our state. It is an indisputable fact, Poroshenko stressed.
