Avakov: Ukrainian rescuers and National Guard officers to receive French Airbus helicopters

Subdivisions of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine will receive the first four helicopters of the French company Airbus Helicopters by the end of the year.

"This year, the Interior Ministry's subdivisions will receive the first four French helicopters. The State Emergency Service will get three aircraft, equipped with the necessary devices for aeromedical evacuation, rescue and emergency and firefighting purposes. Another H-225 helicopter will be handed over to an air division of the National Guard of Ukraine," Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said during a working visit to Chernihiv on Tuesday, September 25, the press service of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

According to him, the service center of the Interior Ministry’s aviation security system will be located in the town of Nizhyn of Chernihiv region. "These helicopters will be handed over to emergency services, border guards, National Guard and police. They are equipped with all kinds of special devices, video surveillance systems, etc. This is a new level of professional quality of our work. We adopt latest technologies," Avakov noted.

As reported, the Interior Ministry of Ukraine and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France signed in March the agreement on the supply of 55 Airbus Helicopters aircraft to Ukraine.
