Ukraine plans to expand Sea Breeze drills in 2019 – Poroshenko

In a post on his Facebook page, Poroshenko wrote: "Assessment by mentors from 8 member countries of the Alliance is clear and unambiguous – due to the exercises, a big step forward was taken to enhance the level of interaction and coordination of the Ukrainian Navy and military forces of the Allied countries. And the Sea Breeze 2018 drills mean not only an increase in such compatibility, but also an increase in the level of maritime and field training and coordination of multinational units”.

He also added that "the cooperation shows unity and readiness together to protect peace and common values".

"Our plans for the next year – to increase the contingent of military participants in the exercises, especially the naval forces, and expand the areas of the Sea Breeze 2019 drills," Poroshenko added.

As reported, the Sea Breeze 2018 Ukrainian-American military exercises were carried out from on July 9 - 21. The purpose of the exercises, joined by representatives of the armed forces of 19 countries, was the planning and carrying out of a multinational maritime security operation in a crisis area.
