One Ukrainian soldier killed in Donbas – Defense Ministry spokesman

From midnight on Tuesday, militants launched two attacks on Ukrainian positions in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine. As a result one soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was killed.
Defense Ministry Spokesman Dmytro Hutsuliak said this at a briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Russian-occupation troops used grenade launchers and small arms to shell Ukrainian positions near Zolote and Hnutove. We regret to inform you that today, July 17, at about 08.00, the Russian armed aggression claimed the life of one more Ukrainian hero. One our serviceman, born in 1978, was killed as a result of the fighting. Our sincere condolences to relatives, friends and fellow soldiers of our hero," he said.
Hutsuliak added that militants launched 19 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past day. One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in shelling.
