Militants violated ceasefire 45 times in eastern Ukraine in last day

The situation in the Joint Force Operation area in Donbas remained tense over the past day.

“Russian-occupation forces violated the ceasefire regime 45 times, using heavy weaponry in 17 cases. Invaders again, ignoring the norms of the international humanitarian law, fired 82mm mortar shells on the village of Novhorodske [34km north of Donetsk] about 6:00 on May 15,” the JFO Headquarters press center reports.

In Luhansk, the tensest situation was observed outside Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk). In Donetsk region, the units of the joint forces carried out active defensive activity in the area of Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), Zalizne (39km north of Donetsk), Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk). According to intelligence, two militants were killed and three more were wounded. The enemy also received an adequate response in Mariupol direction near Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol).

One Ukrainian serviceman was killed and another two were wounded in armed hostilities. They were promptly evacuated to a hospital.
