U.S. to double aid to Ukraine to strengthen its cyber security

The U.S. will double financial assistance to strengthen the cyber security of Ukraine from $5 million to $10 million.

Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs A. Wess Mitchell said this at a briefing after his meeting with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the Presidential Administration, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We also discussed the issue of cyber security, and I can proudly announce that we will double the amount of assistance in this direction, in strengthening of cyber security - from $5 million to $10 million," he said.

As Ukrinform reported, on May 1, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs A. Wess Mitchell started a three-day visit to Ukraine, during which he held meetings with state officials, political leaders and representatives of non-governmental sector.
