Militants launched 52 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 52 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the joint forces operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day. 

This is reported by the JFO Headquarters press center.

"Active military operations continued in the areas of Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Svitlodarsk (55km north-west of Donetsk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Starohnativka (52km south of Donetsk), Nevelske (18km north-west of Donetsk). On the night of May 2, the enemy fired twice 120mm mortars on the stronghold of Ukrainian troops in Luhansk direction," the report reads.

Two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in enemy shelling in last day. The soldiers were immediately taken to a hospital, where they were provided with medical assistance. 

At the end of last day, violating international humanitarian law, terrorists fired 152mm artillery on the village of Troitske (69km west of Luhansk). Russian-terrorist forces launched 15 attacks on the village, where there were no positions of Ukrainian forces.

Today, the work of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission will be carried out in Troitske. Units of the civil and military cooperation will provide assistance to the residents of Troitske.
