Militants launched 76 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 76 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day. The enemy continues to use weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

In Donetsk direction, terrorists fired 120mm mortars and grenade launchers at Ukrainian positions near Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk), Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol). The aggressor also used 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and small arms to shell ATO troops outside Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), IFV weapons – near Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol), Bohdanivka (41km south-west of Donetsk) and Butovka coal mine, grenade launchers – near Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk), heavy machine guns - near Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Slavne (25km south-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Nevelske(18km north-west of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk) and Verkhniotoretske, small arms – near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Pyshchevyk (25km north-east of Mariupol) and Hnutove. In addition, the enemy used an anti-tank missile system in the area of Talakivka and Hnutove.

In Luhansk direction, Russian-backed militants shelled Ukrainian positions outside Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk), using 152mm artillery, 120mm mortars and multiple artillery rocket system. Illegal armed formations also opened fire from 152mm and 122mm artillery, 120mm and 82mm mortars on Ukrainian positions outside Svitlodarsk (55km north-west of Donetsk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Novhorodske (34km north of Donetsk), Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk) and Troitske (69km west of Luhansk). In addition, the enemy also opened fire from 120mm mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns on Ukrainian positions near Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk), from tank, 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and IFV weapons - near Novoselivka (66km south of Donetsk), and from small arms – near Malynove (19km north-east of Luhansk).

As a result of enemy fire eight Ukrainian defenders were wounded. Another three Ukrainian servicemen were injured. The soldiers were immediately taken to a hospital, where they were provided with medical assistance.
