Five Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Spokesperson Maksym Prauta said this at a press briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Three servicepersons were wounded in an unknown object explosion near Novohryhorivka. Two of them are in critical condition, another one is in good condition. Also, two Ukrainian defenders were wounded in enemy shelling. The state of their health is moderately severe,” he said.

Prauta also added that Russian-backed militants continued to violate the ceasefire regime. Over the past day, they launched 44 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Ukrainian side returned fire 23 times, using weapons that are not prohibited under the Minsk agreements.
