Militants launched 38 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 38 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day. 

This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

In Donetsk direction, terrorists fired 120mm and 82mm mortars and grenade launchers of different systems on Ukrainian positions near Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk) and Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk). Russian-terrorist groups also used 82mm mortars near Novotroitske (32km south of Donetsk) and tanks outside Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk). Terrorists opened fire from grenade launchers on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Pyshchevyk (25km north-east of Mariupol), from heavy machine guns – outside Kamyanka, Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk), Vodiane, Pisky, Novotroitske and Pavlopol, weapons on infantry combat vehicles – near Hnutove, Pisky, Nevelske (18km north-west of Donetsk) and Pyshchevyk. In addition, illegal armed formations used small arms to shell ATO troops near Avdiivka, Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol), Kamyanka, Butovka coal mine, Talakivka, Vodiane and Hnutove . Ukrainian positions outside Marinka came under sniper fire.

In Luhansk direction, Russian-occupation troops used 120mm mortars to fire at Ukrainian strongholds outside Troitske (69km west of Luhansk), small arms – near Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk).

No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported in last day.
