Militants launched 38 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants continue to violate the Easter ceasefire, which was declared on the contact line on midnight on March 30. The aggressor launched 38 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day.

This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

In Donetsk direction, terrorists fired 82mm mortars at Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk) and Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk). ATO troops outside Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk), Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol) came under heavy machine gun fire. Militants also used grenade launchers of different systems to shell Ukrainian defenders of Avdiivka, Butovka coal mine, Vodiane, Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol) and Starohnativka (52km south of Donetsk). Sniper fire was recorded near Pavlopol. In addition, illegal armed formations opened fire on Ukrainian strongholds near Avdiivka, Vodiane, Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol) and Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk), using small arms.

In Luhansk direction, Russian-backed militants shelled Ukrainian positions outside Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and 120mm mortars. The enemy also used 82mm mortars to shell defenders of Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and small arms in Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk).

No casualties were reported as a result of the enemy fire.
