Militants launched 13 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 13 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day. 

This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

In Luhansk direction, illegal armed formations fired 122mm artillery, mortars of different calibers and weapons on infantry combat vehicles on Ukrainian positions near Troitske (69km west of Luhansk). The enemy also used 82mm mortars outside Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk) and Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk). ATO troops near Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk) and Zalizne (39km north of Donetsk) came under grenade launcher, heavy machine gun and small arms fire. Militants also launched provocative attacks on Ukrainian positions outside Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), using small arms.

In Donetsk direction, illegal armed formations used 120mm and 82mm mortars and grenade launchers to shell Ukrainian defenders of Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk). Ukrainian strongholds in Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk) came under small arms fire.

As a result of the enemy shelling, one Ukrainian serviceman was killed and another two soldiers were wounded.
