Militants launched 14 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 14 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day. 

This is reported by the ATO Headquarters press center.

In Luhansk direction, militants used 120mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions near Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and Lozove (13km west of Donetsk). Defenders of Mayorske (45km north of Donetsk) and Travneve came under grenade launcher, small arms and heavy machine gun fire.

In Donetsk direction, the tensest situation was observed in the outskirts of Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), where the enemy fired at Ukrainian strongholds, using 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and machine guns. The enemy also opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars and infantry weapons on the defenders of Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk).

In addition, illegal armed formations used heavy mortars, grenade launchers of different types and small arms near Novotroitske (32km south of Donetsk) and Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk). Militants also opened fire from weapons on infantry combat vehicles and small arms outside Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk).

As a result of the enemy shelling, four Ukrainian servicemen were wounded.
