Militants launched 17 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 17 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in Donbas over the past day.

“The enemy violated ceasefire 17 times over the past day. One Ukrainian soldier was wounded as a result of the enemy shelling. He was immediately delivered to a military mobile hospital and provided with necessary medical assistance,” the report reads.

In Donetsk direction, the enemy shelled Ukrainian defenders near Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), using grenade launchers of various types and large-caliber machine guns.

In addition, a Russian-made Orlan-10-type unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was shot down by Ukrainian troops in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone. For the last month and a half, it was the fourth downed UAV of this type.

In Luhansk direction, the tensest situation was observed in Svitlodarsk area, where Russian-backed militants used artillery weapon of 122mm caliber and 120mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions near Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk) and Troitske (69km west of Luhansk). Illegal armed formations used mortars of different caliber and grenade launchers to fire at Ukrainian positions near Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk) and Novhorodske (34km north of Donetsk).
