Militants launched 22 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

“The enemy violated the ceasefire 22 times in the ATO zone over the past day. When there was a threat to the life of the military personnel, the Ukrainian soldiers returned fire to the aggressor,” reads the report.

The evening before “New Year” truce was not quiet the ATO zone. Russian-backed troops continued to violate the ceasefire and launched attacks on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using prohibited mortars and artillery.

In Luhansk direction, illegal armed formations used 120mm artillery systems to fire at the Ukrainian positions near Staryi Aidar. Also, 120mm mortars were used by the enemy to shell the Ukrainian positions near Troitske, Travneve and Luhanske.

In Donetsk direction, Russian-backed militants used mortars to launch attacks on the Ukrainian strongholds outside Avdiivka, Pyschevyk, and Pavlopil.
