Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed, and six servicemen were injured in hostilities in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day.
Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Spokesperson for ATO Oleksandr Motuzianyk said this at a press briefing on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"One Ukrainian soldier was killed in Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk) due to the enemy shelling, and another one was killed near Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk) as a result of the explosion of unknown explosive device. Six servicemen were injured in the ATO zone and they were immediately sent to hospitals,” Motuzianyk said.
At the same time, he added that Russian-backed militants continued to attack the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces using the weapons prohibited under the Minsk agreements.
