US provides Ukrainian sea border guards with equipment worth about $480,000

The transfer of equipment took place in Odesa, an Ukrinform correspondent reports with reference to Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Oleh Slobodian.

"We understand that security depends not only on equipment but the partnership as a whole, and, therefore, we are very happy with the effective maritime cooperation between the parties. We will maintain our partnership relations,” said deputy chief of US diplomatic mission in Ukraine George Kent.

He added that the United States supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and is ready to help ensure security both on land and at sea.

The certificates for diving and assault equipment worth more than UAH 13 million (about USD 480,000) were handed over to the commander of the sea guard platoon of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
