Militants launched 25 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

“The enemy violated ceasefire in ATO area 25 times over the past day, particularly using the weapons which are banned under the Minsk agreements. Ukrainian troops returned fire in over half of the cases. As a result of the enemy shelling, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded,” the statement reads.

The tensest situation was observed in Luhansk direction, where illegal armed formations used mortars of different types, grenade launchers and small arms near Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). In addition, the enemy fired banned mortars outside Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk), Novoluhanske (53km north-east of Donetsk) and Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk). Militants used small arms to launch provocative attacks on ATO troops near Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk). Weapons on infantry combat vehicles were used to fire at Ukrainian positions outside Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk) and Lozove (13km west of Donetsk).

In Donetsk direction, Russian-backed militants opened fire from 120mm mortars and small arms near Pavlopol (30 km northeast of Mariupol). Ukrainian positions outside Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk) and Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk) came under grenade launcher and small infantry weapons fire.
