Militants launched 16 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

"Over the past day, illegal armed groups violated the ceasefire 16 times. The Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on the enemy 11 times. As a result of fighting, no casualties among Ukrainian servicemen were reported," the statement reads.

In Luhansk direction, Russian-backed militants used 120mm mortars to launch attack on the defenders of Travneve. ATO troops also came under heavy machine gun and small arms fire outside Oleksandrivka (20km south-west of Donetsk), Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and Svitlodarsk (55km north-west of Donetsk).

In Donetsk direction, illegal armed formations opened fire from small arms and heavy machine guns on the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk) and Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk). Ukrainian positions also came under grenade launcher and heavy machine gun fire outside Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk) and Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol).
