Militants launched 33 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 33 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ATO area in Donbas in last day.

This is reported by the ATO press center.

"The situation in the ATO area in eastern Ukraine remains tough. Over the past day, illegal armed groups violated the ceasefire along the entire contact line, having launched 33 attacks," the statement reads.

In Donetsk direction, militants used 82mm and 120mm mortars, grenade launchers, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles and small arms to shell Ukrainian positions outside Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk). Illegal armed formations also opened fire from weapons on infantry fighting vehicles near Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk) and Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk).

In Luhansk direction, Russian-backed militants launched attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk), using 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms. ATO troops outside Valuiske (20km north-east of Luhansk) came under heavy machine gun fire.

No casualties among Ukrainian servicemen were reported.
