Kyiv police have reinforced security measures in the center of the city. A total of 2,000 law enforcers maintain public order in the government quarter, Kyiv police wrote on Facebook.

“Due to the scheduled mass rallies, 2,000 police officers and servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine will maintain public order in the government quarter in Kyiv. Depending on the operational situation, the number of law enforcers may change,” reads the report.

As Ukrinform earlier reported, the mass rallies outside the building of the Verkhovna Rada started on October 17. The protesters demand the adoption of bills on the abolition of parliamentary immunity, on an anti-corruption court, on amendments to the election legislation, on president’s impeachment.
