National Defence Minister of Canada Harjit Sajjan said this in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"We are going to continue providing our support. It is necessary to reckon the pace of the training. We will add other aspects when it will progress and expand," Sajjan said.
He also drew attention to the opportunities opened up by the defensive agreement between Canada and Ukraine.
"The defense agreement will help us to gain benefits from cooperation, although at the ministry level we consider various options for increasing the capacities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the National Defence Minister of Canada said.
According to Sajjan, the most important component of the Canadian military assistance to Ukraine is precisely "a combination of different aspects and an increase in the level of opportunities."
As reported, the Canadian government announced early March its decision to extend Canada's military training mission to Ukraine Operation UNIFIER for another two years until March 31, 2019. About 200 Canadian military instructors have been training Ukrainian servicemen within the framework of this mission.
