Militants launched 44 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Russian-backed militants launched 44 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ATO area in Donbas in last day. Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed, another four servicemen were wounded.

This is reported by the ATO press center.

"Over the past day, illegal armed groups violated the ceasefire 44 times. The Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on the enemy 38 times. As a result of the fighting, two Ukrainian soldiers were killed, another four servicemen were wounded," the statement reads.

In Donetsk direction, illegal armed formations used grenade launchers and heavy machine guns to shell Ukrainian strongholds outside Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk), Novoselivka Druha (23km north of Donetsk), Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and Mayorske (45km north of Donetsk). ATO troops also came under small arms fire near Kamyanka (62km south of Donetsk) and Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk).

In Mariupol direction, the tensest situation was observed on the outskirts of Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), where militants fired 82mm mortars, anti-tank grenade launchers and small arms at Ukrainian positions. In addition, the enemy opened fire from 120mm mortars on Ukrainian strongholds near Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol) and used 82mm mortars to shell Ukrainian troops outside Lebedynske (16km north-east of Mariupol).

In Luhansk direction, Russian-backed militants used 82mm mortars and weapons on infantry fighting vehicles near Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk). Positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine outside Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk) and Popasna (90 km north-west of Luhansk) came under small arms fire.
