Ukraine, Lithuania discuss cooperation in defense field

A delegation of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine headed by First Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Rusnak held talks with a delegation of the Defense Ministry of the Republic of Lithuania headed by Vice Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Lithuania Vytautas Umbrasas.

The parties discussed issues related to further development of the Lithuanian-Ukrainian defense cooperation, the press service of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine reported.

"We praise your political and practical assistance and believe in further defense support and cooperation. Lithuania is our partner assisting us to implement reforms under NATO standards. Particularly, in terms of training of Ukrainian service personnel and reforms of the NCO corps under international standards," Rusnak said.

According to Mr Umbrasas, Lithuania and Ukraine have a lot in common. He reaffirmed the Lithuanian readiness to support Ukrainian army in training Ukrainian soldiers, strategic communications, and treatment of wounded soldiers.
