Chaly, Volker discuss UN peacekeepers in Donbas

Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly and U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker have discussed the situation in Donbas, the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States has reported.
"The diplomats discussed the situation caused by Russian aggression in Donbas and next steps to restore sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, in particular through deployment of the UN Peacekeeping Mission," reads the report.
Ukraine insists that a UN peacekeeping force should be deployed throughout the entire occupied territory of the Ukrainian Donbas, primarily on the Ukrainian-Russian border.
Russia agrees with the idea of introducing peacekeepers to Donbas to protect the OSCE mission and states that "blue helmets" should be deployed only on the line of contact.
