Over 165,000 explosive devices disposed in Donbas since ATO start

Since the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine, combat engineers of the Ukrainian army have disposed over 165,000 explosive devices and cleared over 3 thousand hectares of territory.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Spokesperson for ATO issues Andriy Lysenko informed this at a press briefing on Wednesday, October 11.

“Since the start of ATO, combat engineers of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry have disposed over 165,000 mines and explosive devices and cleared over 3,370 hectares of land from explosive devices in Donetsk and Luhansk regions,” Lysenko said.

He specified that during last week’s mine clearance operations in the ATO zone, military sappers cleared almost 19 hectares of land, having disposed 1,247 explosive objects.
