Militants launched 41 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

The situation in ATO area in eastern Ukraine has escalated. Russian-backed militants launched 41 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in last day. 

This is reported by the ATO press center.

The tensest situation was observed in Donetsk direction, where militants used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to fire at Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk), Mayorske (45km north of Donetsk), Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk). The enemy also fired machine guns and small arms at defenders of Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk). As a result, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded. In addition, Russian-backed militants launched attacks near Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), using machine guns.  

In Mariupol direction, illegal armed formations shelled Ukrainian strongholds outside Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol), using 82mm mortars and different types of grenade launchers. The enemy also twice used weapons on infantry fighting vehicles near Novotroitske (32km south of Donetsk).

In Luhansk direction, ATO troops came under infantry weapons fire outside Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk). Militants also used tank, 82mm mortars and anti-tank grenade launchers to launch two attacks on defenders of Krymske (42.5km north-west of Luhansk).
