President changes rules of conscription for State Border Service
This is stated in a decree by the head of state, No. 219 of August 17, 2017, which was posted on the president's website.
The decree amends the provision on military service at the State Border Service.
The document states that the conscription for service at the State Border Service is conducted during mobilization in a special period. Previously, it was conducted only for fixed-term service and the service of officers.
In this regard, the decree also introduces amendments to the section on the performance of military service in a special period. It is expected that the conscription of those liable to military service and reservists, as well as the admission of citizens to service on contracts, begins in case of the announcement of mobilization and during a special period. The amendments stipulate that the conscription of those liable to military service during this period is carried out by military enlistment offices and reservists by the heads of State Border Service agencies on the basis of presidential decrees.
