Militants launched 28 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in last day

Militants launched 28 attacks on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in ATO area in Donbas over the past day. Three Ukrainian soldiers were killed, eight servicemen were wounded and another one was injured.

This is reported by the ATO press center.

The tensest situation was observed in Mariupol direction. A Ukrainian soldier was wounded as a result of mortar shelling of Ukrainian positions near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol). Another Ukrainian serviceman was killed after Russian-backed militants launched a provocative grenade launcher and small arms attack on Vodiane (16km north-west of Donetsk). Ukrainian strongholds outside Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk) and Talakivka (20km north-west of Mariupol) came under mortar fire.

In Luhansk direction, terrorists used 120mm mortars to shell ATO troops near Novotoshkivske (53km north-west of Luhansk). Ukrainian strongholds outside Zolote (67km north-east of Luhansk), Troitske (69km west of Luhansk) and Novozvanivka (70km west of Luhansk) came under infantry fighting vehicle weapons, heavy machine gun and small arms fire. As a result, another Ukrainian soldier was wounded.

In Donetsk direction, Russian-backed militants used mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to fire at Ukrainian positions outside Avdiivka (18km north of Donetsk) and Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk).
