Poroshenko believes Sea Breeze exercises to be step towards stability in the region

He said this while delivering his speech on the Hetman Sahaidachny frigate off the coast of Odesa city, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I sincerely believe that the current exercises will become another powerful step towards achieving stability in the region. I congratulate you on the 20th anniversary of the Sea Breeze exercises. I wish the participants successful fulfillment of the set tasks," Poroshenko said.

The President has also added that Ukraine's course towards NATO membership has no alternatives.

"Our intention to return to the agenda the issue of the action plan for NATO membership and the rapprochement of our defense and security sector to the Alliance standards are witnessed by the numerous opinion polls. Strong support for this strategy shows that the chosen course is correct and has no alternatives,” the Head of State said.
