Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said this, while delivering a speech at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Russia does not want peace and perceives the emergence of a strong and democratic European Ukrainian state as a direct threat to the survival of the Putin regime. The Kremlin continues getting ready for a large-scale war, which would pose a threat not only to Ukraine but to other countries of Central and Eastern Europe as well," the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council said.
In this connection, Turchynov stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin had issued a decree to increase the number of Russian military personnel up to almost 1.9 million people starting from July 1 this year.
