Ukraine, US sign memorandum on joint production of M16 rifles

Ukroboronservis State Enterprise and Aeroscraft US corporation have signed a memorandum of cooperation, which provides for establishment of a joint venture for the production of modernized M16 rifles.
Deputy director general for aircraft construction and production of Ukroboronprom State Concern, Volodymyr Korobov said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"We launch the project on production of M16 rifles in the territory of Ukraine. I hope that we will start to implement it soon. Today, we have signed all the necessary documents. This project will give our army and our industry the opportunities for transition to NATO standards," Korobov said.
