Ukrainian Security Service: Kremlin plans to destabilize situation in Kyiv, aggravate fighting in Donbas

Representative of the Security Service of Ukraine Anatoly Dublyk said this at today’s press briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Along with the destabilization in Kyiv, the Kremlin plans to aggravate the situation on the frontline. The elements of the plan are to step up tension, bring the intensification of attacks to the highest level, provoke local clashes, etc. This trend is already clearly observed on the contact line. The goal is to stalemate the Ukrainian government and to carry out an offensive from both outside and inside," he said.

Dublyk also noted that the riots were plotted in the regions: "The meetings of local communities are planned to be held with subsequent summoning of the final all-Ukrainian forum of local councils. The direct requirements of federalization are not planned, instead, the strategy of ‘erosion of the central government’ has been chosen.”
