Defense Minister Poltorak: Ukraine supports intention of Moldova to remove Russian troops from Transnistria

Ukraine supports the intention of the Moldovan people to remove the Russian military base from the territory of the country.

Ukrainian Defense Minister, Army General Stepan Poltorak said this during a meeting with his Moldovan colleague Anatoly Salaru, the Ministry’s press service reports.

"Stepan Poltorak has noted that Ukraine respects the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and supports the efforts of the Moldovan people to remove the Russian military base from the territory of the country," the statement reads.

As reported, Moldovan Defense Minister Anatoly Salaru said that at the meeting with Ukrainian Minister Poltorak it had been officially informed that the Ukrainian side was ready to prepare a special corridor for the removal of Russian troops and weapons from Transnistria.
