Ukrinform
The state concern Ukroboronprom refuted media reports suggesting Ukroboronprom purchased spare parts for BTR-70 from Russia, according to a statement posted on the concern’s official website.

“The information in media about the implementation of the contract on supplies of engines for BTR-70 for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, concluded between the state enterprise Ukrinmash and RION ASSETS CO. LTD, is incomplete and unreliable. This information is biased and is aimed at discrediting the domestic defense industry,” reads the statement.

Ukroboronprom called on the Ukrainian president to order the Security Service of Ukraine to thoroughly check how this contract was implemented and involve representatives of the Ukrainian anti-corrupt organizations in this process.

As a reminder, yesterday there were media reports suggesting the state enterprise Ukrinmash, which is a subsidiary of Ukroboronprom, bought components for military equipment and engines of the Russian production for BTR-70 at the artificially high price.
