Parliament ratifies Ukraine-UK defense cooperation memorandum

Ukrainian lawmakers have ratified the Memorandum on mutual understanding and defense cooperation between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Some 236 Ukrainian MPs voted in favor of the relevant decision, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Oleksandr Dublian, the ratification of Memorandum will create legal basis for the Ukrainian-British cooperation in the sphere of defense, in particular personnel trainings; development of military and technical cooperation; participation in joint military exercises; procurement of military equipment, weapons and resources; trainings of intelligence specialists.
Oleksandr Dublian also reminded that the Memorandum was signed on the initiative of British side in Kyiv on March 17.
