Militants launch 50 attacks on ATO troops in eastern Ukraine

Situation in ATO area in eastern Ukraine remained tense in last day, the intensity of shelling increased in the afternoon.

As ATO Headquarters press centre reports, militants launched 50 attacks on the strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in last day.

The terrorists used mortars to fire at Ukrainian positions near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol) and Taramchuk [30km south-west of Donetsk] in Mariupol direction. Moreover, the militants shelled ATO troops near Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk), Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Novotroitske (32km south of Donetsk), Berezove (35km south-west of Donetsk) and Hnutove (19km north-west of Mariupol), using small arms, heavy machine guns and grenade launchers.

The positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Leninske (22km east of Mariupol) and Verkhniotoretske (22km north-east of Donetsk) came under grenade launcher and 82mm mortar fire.
