Ukraine plans to bring financial provision of Armed Forces to NATO standards

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry plans to bring the system of financial provision of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in line with the NATO standards within 2017-2020. 

Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Oleksiy Chernobay said this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“During 2017-2020, it is planned to bring the system of financial provision of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in line with the NATO standards. According to these standards, the defense budget expenditures are as follows: 50% - for the Armed Forces’ maintenance, 20% - for the training of troops, and 30% - for the development of arms and military equipment,” he said.

According to Chernobay, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry will continue to implement reforms aimed at improvement of the defense department.
