ATO: Militants use heavy artillery to shell ATO forces near Avdiivka

The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in eastern Ukraine remains difficult, although the number of attacks has reduced compared with the previous twenty-four hours.
The Russian-backed militants fired on the Ukrainian positions 44 times, of which 38 attacks were recorded in Donetsk direction, 5 attacks – in the direction of Mariupol, and one attack– in Luhansk direction, the ATO press center reports.
The pro-Russian militants used mortars of various calibers 20 times against the Ukrainian troops along the whole contact line, of which 9 attacks were registered near Avdiivka, where Russian militants used 122-mm artillery.
