The night in the ATO area in eastern Ukraine was restless as the Russian-backed militants had stepped up attacks on Ukrainian positions.

The militants were shelling Butovka coal mine (11.4km north-west of Donetsk) from automatic grenade launchers during an hour.
The terrorists also launched attacks on Ukrainian fortifications near Avdiyivka (18km north of Donetsk), Opytne (11.5km north-west of Donetsk), Pisky (12km north-west of Donetsk), Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), Novhorodske (34km north of Donetsk), Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), Troitske (69km west of Luhansk).
