According to Ukrinform, Le Figaro reported this, citing the Paris Prosecutor's Office.

The prosecutor’s office stated that an investigation by France’s General Directorate for Internal Security found that the suspect had allegedly sent videos to a contact in Russia.

According to law enforcement officials, the 48-year-old man, a native of Belarus, was detained on June 3 while filming a prototype drone belonging to a company that supplies unmanned aerial vehicles to the French and Ukrainian armies.

Two days after his detention, the Paris Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation on suspicion of undermining the state’s “fundamental interests.”

Specifically, the man was charged with passing information to a foreign state, namely Russia. This crime carries a sentence of up to 15 years in prison in France.

According to a source close to the investigation, the man was residing in Spain, and his target was Delair's production facilities near Toulouse.

Delair is a French manufacturer of drones for the defense sector. According to French media reports, the company has been supplying drones to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war.

As previously reported, a former intelligence officer was convicted in Austria of spying for Russia.
