SSU detains woman who directed Russian attacks on Dnipro
The counterintelligence unit of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has detained a woman who allegedly helped direct Russian missile and drone attacks on Dnipro earlier this month.

According to the SSU, the suspect was an unemployed local resident. She reportedly came to the attention of Russian intelligence services because of her pro-Kremlin comments in Telegram channel chats.

After being recruited and instructed by Russian handlers, the woman began monitoring the locations and technical condition of defense-related enterprises in Dnipro that Russia was allegedly preparing to target in a new wave of combined strikes.

"During reconnaissance missions, the agent recorded the perimeters of the relevant facilities, focusing on administrative buildings, industrial workshops, and logistics centers of potential targets. She also monitored the aftermath of enemy strikes and reported the information to her Russian handler to prepare new attacks or adjust follow-up strikes on Dnipro," the SSU stated.

SSU officers documented the suspect's espionage activities and detained her at her residence.

During a search, investigators seized a smartphone containing evidence of cooperation with Russia.

SSU investigators charged the woman under Part 2 of Article 111 of Ukraine's Criminal Code (high treason committed under martial law).

She is being held in custody without the possibility of bail and faces a potential sentence of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

As Ukrinform previously reported, a Russian agent who tracked military facility coordinates and directed strikes on Cherkasy was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
